Telemark
Telemark skiing... a tradition becomes a trend
Telemark is a fascinating variant of skiing and for some time now tradition has become a trend and more and more winter sports enthusiasts are enthusiastic about this exciting ski technique. Similar to cross-country skiing bindings, the heel is freely movable vertically and can be lifted off as if walking. This makes it possible to travel down a slope in gliding steps, so to speak.
The movements appear floating, soft and elegant. A characteristic feature is the rider's kneeling over the mountain ski. To do this, the downhill ski is pushed forward during turn initiation. At the same time, the knee bends so extremely that it almost touches the mountain ski. The bending of the knee requires strong thighs.
Beginners must first master this coordinative challenge and develop a special sense of balance. Experts rave about unique experiences in deep snow when the upper body breaks through the snow surface. But also short turns and carving on the slope are possible with the versatile technique and prepare a unique and unmistakable skiing experience during the ski vacations.
Private telemark skiing lessons daily on request.
